Fort of Saline is located at the mouth of the river Albegna in the vicinity of Albinia country. The structure of the building, took a quadrilateral shape, paying on one side facing the sea, a tower covered. The tower from the base square, was built by starting from the second half of the fifteenth century, while during 1630, by the will of Philip IV of Spain, were made some additions like the fort, ramparts and a moat, fed from the nearby river, composed by its drawbridge. The position had construct a strategic, able to control the nearby salt marshes, the river port, as well as trafficking of Via Aurelia and steps on the tombolo Giannella.
